An early start for a long day, we really took advantage of the 39 mi. of good highway surface while we had it, it was chip and seal after that for the rest of the day. Soon after the second sag I got my 4th flat, a souvenir from the highway riding. By mile 62 the climbing began, 8-10% grade, very steep with chip seal surface. By mile 77 we passed the McDonald Observatory and concluded the majority of our climbing. We arrived at Indian Indian Lodge in Davis Mountains State Park in time for a shower and dinner, a beautiful place to spend our much deserved, third rest day. Yeah!!!
