Today was one of our favorite rides through it was cold, cloudy and hilly. we are now in Texas hill country where we've been told Lance and his group have trained. It was a pleasure to see some green grass, trees and such, we even passed a vineyard. We got an early start to be sure May wouldn't be late for her dentist appointment. Last week she lost a filling, and two days ago a crown; was it the chip-seal or the jellybeans? Mid morning we descended upon the town of Leakey to warm up in a coffee shop, while we were inside a friendly local dog was spotted stealing sandwiches and snacks from our bike bags and carrying them across the road.

Afternoon we had more climbing and great views on a sparsely travelled road.
Tonight we are staying at Foxfire Cabins which are quite decent, my cabin mates are Julie and Marilyn. Marilyn is mid-fifties from NZ & Australia, though she is homeless for at least the next year. She has plans to travel in the states and Europe with no long term agenda. Who knows where she'll end up?
