If you run with the wolves, you're going to howl

After we devoured the hotel breakfast, we headed out for a very cool Sunday morning ride. We passed many other cyclists, farms, pecan orchards, and vineyards. Who knew they make wine in NM? At around 35 mi. we started getting into a more urban area and finally we went rode right through downtown El Paso, I'm glad it was Sunday. From there to our hotel we were able to ride on a new piece of the highway that wasn't yet open to cars. We confirmed our exit with the border patrol truck that we saw and found our hotel. Because May chose to make two detours today she didn't ride with me, so I rode with 'the wolves' most of the day. They're the crazy fast ones. They often ride a loose pace line that does help, especially on windy days. It was work to keep up with them but they insisted!
We had burritos and salad for dinner after our margaritas. No idea where we crossed the the border but we're in Texas now and will be for the next 19 days!

Tomorrow is supposed to be an easy 47 mi. day with no reason to hurry to the hotel. A leisurely start and time to make stops. Should be good.
