Moss Point,MS-Dauphin Island, AL 43 mi.

We had a leisurely start after breakfast at the BW hotel. Nancy rode with May and I while Randy returned the van and flew his plane to Dauphin Island. He circled overhead before landing and riding his bike to meet us. After about 10 mi. we crossed into Alabama and the day got better and better; it took on a holiday atmosphere as we neared the coastal area.
There were lots of smiles as we began to see pelicans and the gulf, we crossed a long spit of land and a long 3.5 mi. bridge to the island.

Lunch at Barnacle Bill's
Most everyone stopped for a long slow lunch at Barnacle Bill's and then coffee and pastry at the island bakery. This is truly a relaxing slice of vacation from our trip. We're staying at DI Beach Club which is a condo set up from which we have a beautiful view of the gulf and breeze on the balcony.

It was a busy and exciting, day that ended with dinner in the leaders condo and a trivia game that Marilyn created for us.
