Today was our last full day in Texas, and our last chance for Texas waffles. It was a warmer start, around 50F and sunny, a beautiful day which makes it easier to decide what to wear. Our outfits are quite limited and we can now recognize one another from a distance based on outfit, riding style, and bikes. The roads and surface were mostly good and the scenery was nice and green; Helen agreed that it reminded her of WI. The temperature got up to mid-seventies and we enjoyed the hot tub with the tired jets at the Pinewood Inn before dinner.
We rode through some forests and some clear cut areas, and past a Georgia Pacific mill. We were passed by logging trucks filled with long, uncut trees going in both directions, and the occasional truck filled with wood chips. |

Cookie Jar Cafe |
We stopped at The Cookie Jar Cafe but they didn't have any cookies made, so later we stopped for lunch at Mama Jack's for a cup of gumbo and shared onion rings, bike fuel ;-), they don't pedal themselves you know! It was quite a scene, lots of pictures and chatting with the normal folk!
This will post at a later date because wifi is just another one of those things not found at the Pinewood Inn.
