Today was by far the highest and hardest part of the trip. The first 40 mi. were primarily uphill and the grade hovered around 6-7%. The many switchbacks were taken slower and slower as we went along. At the top of Emory pass 8,228', we had a beautiful view to enjoy our sandwiches. The last eight miles were all down with more switchbacks. Tonight we're at The Black Range Lodge, a very unique place that most of us are enjoying. No cell coverage, maybe tomorrow.
